Good Progress

Today was a good day for BlownTC. Although it was a bit rough for me! It seems that the more you look the more you find.

I’m ready to take out the trans (first thing in the AM.) The master cylinder for the brakes is out as well as the clutch and brake pedals, they needed to come out to get the foot rest out to get the trans out. While they are out I'll put new bushings in, the pedals were a little sloppy.

On the master cylinder the push rod was broken at on time and was welded. It doesn't look good at all. It was pushing at an odd angle which is probably why the cylinder front is in such bad shape. I'm learning not to question too much, just accept it and fix it. The brake light switch also had one post just hanging there, I haven't taken a look at that yet, I wonder if that is fixable. Everything else looks good so far. For the most part it is a real nice looking car, just a little worn out.

On the trans the mounting bolts were loose already, it's easier to take apart when the bolts are already loose, BONUS! Once the trans is out the last thing is to take out the clutch and pressure plate. Then it's time to start putting things back together.

Trans visible and ready to come out.
